FEBRUARY 2011 Berlinale Talent Campus was an extraordinary experience and my thanks go out to the Talent Campus team for arranging such a phenomenal program of events and generating such a warm, enthusiastic atmosphere of filmy fun for all 350 attendees from 88 countries. What a wonderful week of workshops, lectures and masterclasses with the likes of Kerry Fox, Isabella Rossellini, Paul Schrader, Harry Belafonte and Ralph Fiennes. It was delightful to meet writers, directors, producers, actors, cinematographers, sound designers, production designers, composers and film critics from all around the world and as a result I have found some wonderful new filmy friends for life and hope to develop our creative collaborations in the future. The course was taken in the gorgeous surrounds of the spa town Fiuggi, in the foothills of Rome and was a fabulous week of invigorating, challenging and inspiring theory and practice of writing scripts that apply the techniques of universal screen language and story telling. I am so looking forward to applying this newly found knowledge in film making to my future work. Thank you so much to my fellow students, Bobette Buster and Prof. Armando Fumagalli for such an exhilarating and fulfilling learning experience.
